Beth Cavalier is a Reiki Master practicing Usui Shiki Ryoho and is a certified practitioner of LifeForce Energy Healing. These practices promote the parasympathetic nervous system response (rest and restore) to allow the body to access its natural self-healing capabilities. Beth’s love of the natural world inspired her to seek training and certification in Animal Reiki and Healing Touch for Animals (L1). Rounding out her experience in healing arts, Beth is Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher.
Beth began exploring the intuitive and energy arts over a decade ago, attending classes taught by Remee Gemo at the Energy Medicine Center. Unexplainable events in her life led her to seek a better understanding of the subtle energies in the human body and ways to more fully develop and appreciate her intuition. Studying Reiki was a natural out growth of this self-exploration, which in turn led to more study of energetic healing with the Deborah King Center, and other specialists in healing and intuitive arts. Through all of this Beth continued to return to Reiki as the foundation of energetic healing, eventually completing training to the Master level.
She completed training in Animal Reiki with the Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA) and is currently pursuing teaching credentials in order to bring this gentle and effective practice to pet owners and animal health workers.
An injury to her neck brought Beth to the yoga mat, where she found strength, balance and flexibility in mind and body. Seven years later and 56 years old, Beth was driven to pursue yoga teacher training to learn more about this ancient philosophy. The similarities in yogic and Reiki philosophy came as something of a surprise at first. Both Reiki and yoga are daily spiritual (not religious!) practices. While Reiki came to the western world from Japan, and yoga from India, both practices focus on self-awareness, clarity of thought, and the connection of all living things.
The world moves fast and life seems designed to challenge our serenity. Reiki and yoga focus attention inward providing an opportunity for the mind and body to tune out, rest and recharge.
Beth enjoys helping others find balance and relaxation through the gentle energetic exchange of a Reiki session. Her yoga practice has a focus on seniors and those who feel that they can’t do that “crazy yoga stuff”. Her goal is to help others gain confidence so that they too can enjoy the benefits that come from this ancient and healthful practice.
Beth is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals, the Shelter Animal Reiki Association, and the Yoga Alliance. A lifelong environmentalist, Beth served for nearly 30 years as an analyst and enforcement officer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Beth shares her home with three horses, six dogs, ten cats, and her husband of over thirty years.
